A Business Systems Analyst is an individual who analyzes different areas of a business and how it works. They then lay out organized plans in order to improve the way that the establishment runs by focusing on the departments that need help. BA's work with IT (Information Technology). Together they implement and launch ideas to help improve the products and services in a company.

The BA plays a vital role in problem solving. They help companies make key decisions. The break down communication barriers by providing training for a companies employees. They help companies understand how their systems function and organize different systems for a company.
A career as a BA is a flexible one. BA's can work in all sorts of industries. Financing and banking jobs are available. Insurance and software service companies are also an option. The knowledge and variety of skill that a BSA acquires gives them the opportunity to settle for a job in the area of their desire.
BA's can work for individual companies. There are also technology service firms that hire BA's to work for companies that they've contracted. Another option is self-employment. Self-Employment is a great choice for the entrepreneurial worker. There are endless possibilities of employment for a BA.
The prerequisites to being a BSA have not been clearly laid out. A background in Information Technology or a Computer Science degree is a great place to start. Experience in programming and engineering will also prepare a BA for their role. Those with graduate degrees in accounting, economics and business management are more likely to be considered for employment by an employer. The BSA seeking to specialize in a scientific area will want to study engineering, mathematics, and physical science. All BA's should continue their education because technology is constantly changing.

Salary starts at $25,000 a year for the training BA. Higher pay comes with increased experience. Experienced employees earn between $55,000 to $90,000 a year with the lowest paid earning a minimum salary of $45,000. The most experienced and highest paid employees in this sector of Information Technology can earn upwards of $100,000 a year.
The benefits of being a business systems analyst are great. BSA's get to work with the latest in technological advances. They make a difference in the world as we know it by improving the systems of the most influential companies. A career as an analyst is a flexible one. BA's can work for firms, businesses, big companies, or choose self-employment. Great pay and promotion make a career in the BA sector of IT a rewarding one.
