The University which is by the name of Nalanda is located in the north of the state of Bihar in India. It is one of the best Buddhist monarchy centers in the world. Nalanda University is the house for thousands of teachers and students.

Nalanda University is the house for thousands of teachers and students. There are some of the topics which are taught in this university are logic, grammar, astronomy, and Ayurvedic Buddhist medicine. In the ancient ages Nalanda was the largest center for residential learning in the ancient world.
The University was founded in 5th century by the Gupta emperors. The University of Nalanda has been flourished due to patronage of kings like Harshavardhana and Palas, kings of Pala dynasty. During his lifetime Lord Buddha visited many times in this university and because of that this famous centre of Buddhist learning shot to fame much later during 5th-12th centuries. The University attracts students from all over the world including China, Korea, Sri Lanka and Indonesia.
The university covers almost 14 hectares of the space. Red Bricks have been used to make the Nalanda University. By the central walk way the buildings are divided into two lanes. The monasteries or Viharas are on the east of this central alley and the temple or Chaiyas are on the west. The Viharas are double storied buildings made for teachers and students. All of the buildings are covered by the beautiful flowers and garden. The Chinese pilgrim Hiuen Tsang spent three years of his life at Nalanda.
