Just review the list below so that you can determine if this is indeed the reason for your failures in offset printing.
Offset printing is a very big investment. If it fails on you, it is a big deal of course. You cannot just take back the cost of that type of long run printing. So if you are seeing some failures from your offset printing efforts, you might want to get into the root of the problem. Luckily for you, I have here a few common reasons which might explain your failures. Just review the list below so that you can determine if this is indeed the reason for your failures in offset printing.

1. Wrong draft document calibration – The most common cause of failure in offset printing is the wrong calibration of the document drafts. Most offset printers will want to receive a certain preferred type of document design file that they can easily translate into their printing press.

If you sent the wrong file with the wrong file format and color settings, then you should expect the wrong types of prints to be produced as well. That is why it is important that you be specific and careful with the documents that you are working with. Make sure that they are in the right format with the proper calibration in terms of settings.

2. Lack of redundant content and design checking – Your offset printing can also fail if you did not check those content and design elements repeatedly. Once checking session is hardly enough to really screen out all the small mistakes and errors within a typical design for offset printing. If you do not have all these redundant checks etc., then you can expect for errors to be passed on to mass production leading a lower quality print overall for you.

3. Failing to set guidelines and bleeds properly – It is also possible that your prints failed because you failed to set the guidelines and bleeds properly. These guidelines and printing bleeds all contribute to a more professional looking and apt kind printing product.

In fact they help balance out design elements and of course make sure that everything needed to be included in the printed area is there. Lose these guides and you won’t get the proper professional balanced look for your prints.

4. Using the wrong materials – The results of offset printing is also highly determined by the materials used in printing. Mistakes happen when you use the wrong kind of materials that results in the wrong kind of look.

For example, if you choose very thin and rough paper, then even with high quality offset printing the look will still be a bit “cheap”. So try to be very deliberate and careful with your choices of materials in offset printing. It is important that you choose the right materials for your special prints yourself.

5. Lack of testing and sampling – Finally, you might fail in offset printing because of the lack of testing and sampling. If you did not get extra feedback from sample audiences and of course if you did not review some of the sample prints of your initial work, then you will not get extra insights on the weaknesses of your printed designs. This increases the risk of failure of course since you will be producing prints that are just not optimized well enough for real type of offset printing.

Great! Now that you know the reasons why you may be failing in offset printing, you can easily try to improve your practices to make the best possible prints that you can. Good luck!
