A very well known remedy for constipation is apple juice. It works gently on the digestive system and does not cause loose motion. Apples can be taken in many forms including juice, pulp and ACV and all of these help in relieving constipation.

One of the best known combinations that help in relieving constipation is mixing dates and raisins. Boiling two or three dry dates and some raisins in milk on low heat for a long time and then drinking this mixture after it has cooled down has been known to effectively relieve constipation. We can also mix a raisins, figs and prunes with water and olive oil for a few minutes and let it simmer on slow fire for a few more. After this, we filter and drink the water. This has also been known to be very effective.

Another well-known remedy is soaking raisins in a glass of warm water overnight and squeezing out the raisins the next morning and drinking the water. This should preferably be done in before taking any beverage or food. After we get relief, we can take our breakfast, tea or coffee, etc. Starting the day with four glasses of water before anything else is the best way to prevent and find relief from constipation.
