Learning a foreign language such as Hebrew is certainly no exception to this. Hebrew is a beautiful language and is in fact one of the oldest languages in the world. But Hebrew isn’t exactly the most popular second language choice out there. In fact, Hebrew isn’t even on the radar as far as popularity is concerned – Ancient Greek is more popular as a second language choice. The bottom line is that learning Hebrew online may be the only viable choice available for many people because of the lack of institutions that offer Hebrew as a course.
Learning Hebrew online has other advantages other than cost. Even if a learning institution that offers a Hebrew language course could be found nearby, convenience is still an issue. Anyone who is enrolled in one of these courses has to travel to get there and on arrival probably has to pay for parking. In addition, the course may only be offered at an inconvenient time. Then there are always weather considerations.
Speaking of convenience, sometimes people need a little extra help and the availability of an instructor could be an issue. Remember that appointments need to be convenient for the instructor as well as for the student. This is not always possible especially if the instructor is dealing with larger class sizes or if he/she has a large workload. Learning Hebrew online will not have these convenience issues. Among other things, Hebrew courses will have pre-recorded language aids to help students with their lessons. Some courses even have live help available 24/7 in case of learning emergencies – although this kind of help may only be available at extra cost.
Another selling point for learning Hebrew online is that students can adjust their own pace of learning – something that definitely cannot be accomplished while attending a school course. This can be important for two reasons. First of all, not everyone learns at the same pace. In a classroom situation there is only one pace – the one set by the instructor. Learning online offers the ability to do it your way, fast or slow. Lessons can be reviewed repeatedly if needed without slowing anyone else down. Secondly, the online student can come and go as he/she wishes. Hebrew sufficient for the needs of the student can be learned in a few months or a few years or any timeframe in between.
Hand in hand with the advantage of learning at one’s own pace is the ability to spend as much time as needed online to accomplish the goal of learning Hebrew. Learning Hebrew online allows students the flexibility and extra choices not available in institutional learning.
