Taylor Swift is coming to Australia in March 2012 with her "Speak Now" tour. Fans can expect to hear her country music prowess on full display, with a thoughtful performance of fancy costumes and a variety of dance performances.
Taylor Swift popped into the country music scene during 2006 with the release of her first self-titled album. The performer’s debut single "Tim McGraw" landed at number six on Billboard Top Country Albums and hit number five on the Billboard 200. She was just 16 when she achieved worldwide fame.

Swift’s debut album sold 39,000 copies during the first week it was released and ended up at number one on the Billboard Top Country Albums. The talented country performer was born in Reading, Pennsylvania and was raised in Wyomissing where her family grew Christmas trees. She found her talent for writing at a young age and took first place in a national poetry contest when she was in the fourth grade.

When Swift was 10, a repairman taught her how to play several chords on the guitar and her interest in music began. Not long after her initial guitar lesson, the artist penned her first song calling it "Lucky You". She continued to write her own music and has commented often that writing music allowed her to release the pain she felt from not fitting in socially at school. Swift has also shared personal experiences of being bullied, which caused her to prefer spending time alone with her music.

When she was 11, Swift travelled to Nashville, Tennessee with a large number of demo tapes. The performer tenaciously distributed her music to every label in Nashville, but was refused. She went back home to Pennsylvania and sang the national anthem at the US Open tennis tournament where she was well received.

The talented songwriter began spending time in Nashville and was given the opportunity of working with local songwriters. At age 14, her family moved permanently to the country music city where Swift performed at the Bloomsburg Fair, which was her first big show. Her performance received positive reviews and she started attending Hendersonville High School. Later, she finished her high school education by learning at home.

The "Speak Now" tour is a two hour presentation that is likely to remind fans of a Broadway show. Viewers will be treated to fancy costumes and a variety of dance performances along with aerialists, shifting sets and incredible music.

Taylor Swift’s musical prowess is on full display during the concert since she plays five different guitars during the show. Additionally, the artist will play two banjos, the piano and the ukulele while changing outfits nine different times. Swift is a thoughtful performer who shifts her location around each venue and switches stages to give every member of her audience a great view of her performance.

Taylor Swift’s "Speak Now" tour is selling out stadiums all over North America and she’ll be arriving in Australia on March 2nd to perform at the Burswood Dome in Perth along with the Adelaide Entertainment Centre followed by the Brisbane Entertainment Centre. Swift is then scheduled to entertain viewers at Acer Arena in Sydney on March 9th and 10th. Later, she’ll arrive at the Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne. Her opening act in Australia is the band Hot Chelle Rae who is famous for their song "Tonight Tonight".

Swift’s set list includes hits "Back to December", "The Story of Us" and "Speak Now". She’ll also sing her popular songs "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me".

Taylor Swift has been able to achieve popularity on both pop and country music radio stations, which is not an easy feat. Furthermore, her music speaks to the young and those who remember being young. Thus her tour "Speak Now" has been aptly named.
