Though major players of this category are call centers but saying that they are the only players will be wrong. Why do companies do walk-in interview? Well these days, everyone is mainly focused on the target that they need to achieve and for that they need manpower and for that instant required of skilled people they do walk-ins.
The walk-ins are usually to test how you strategies in tight spots and your skills of how you will work under pressure. There are few things that you should keep in mind before going for a walk-in. Prepare yourself well by keeping a good knowledge about the company. It will increase your selection chances a lot. These walk-in interviews are majorly for a job in either marketing or sales. Always keep your resumes handy for when opportunity knocks you should be well prepared for it. Also prepare well for certain basic questions as it won’t make you nervous on the spot out there. These questions can be as basic as, info about yourself, or your background or any other basic topic that is directly linked to you. You should also know what your USP is that will answer the question why the company should hire you. Also see the job profile and search for all the required info about the concerned job. This was all about the basic preparation that one should do for walk-ins. Now comes a little technical part. Learn few basic things about your subjects that you’ve studied, for it always sounds pleasant to know that you did something in your school and graduation and that your score was all based on your own efforts.
Now, what if they give you a job offer on the spot, that is, right after your interview? I know it is all about making an air castle but you never know. But walk-in interviews are carried out to give instant jobs. For that carry at least 5 photographs. Be equipped with all the necessary documents. Always look presentable, because you are going to be their representative in front of their clients as well as customers. If the interviewer is telling you something, try and listen to him patiently and if you miss out on what he said and ask them to repeat it politely, but try to listen to it in one go only. Try to be confident while answering questions for it is only about you and your talents and no one know them better than you do. The interviews are based on barter system, you give something, and you get something. It is not just that you are in need it’s equally true that the company also needs you. Never ever hesitate to negotiate on your salary for it is your right to do that. And always remember one thing; there is nothing better than a smiling face in this world, so never forget to smile even if you make a fool out of yourself.
