Pregnancy is one of the most precious times of a women’s life, so pregnancy care at this stage is very important. Nine months and then a bundle of joy is true happiness for the pregnant woman.
During pregnancy, women should rest for long periods as pregnancy is marked by dizzy spells, nausea and vomiting. At this stage don’t lift any heavy stuff like furniture, trunks etc; this might cause complications during your pregnancy or can cause harm to fetus. Also, avoid exposure to ultra violet rays and X-rays as they could harm the baby.

In addition to these there are some more points that would surely ensure proper pregnancy care. The points are listed below:

• Eat a balanced diet that is rich in proteins, carbohydrates, proteins, fibers, vitamins and many other essential nutrients. This will ensure that the baby is born healthy.
• Consult a dietitian if possible.
• Stay away from cigarettes and alcohol like the plague. Do not inhale smoke even indirectly if you can.
• Exercise regularly. Exercise gives special benefits to pregnant women as it can lessen fatigue and discomfort.
• During labor, go along the contraction and not against it.
• A cold shower may help you feel better or relaxed before labor.
• Eat small meals every day but avoid spicy, fried and acidic foods.
• Drink plenty of water during your labor. This will prevent dehydration.
• Ask your partner to give you a gentle backrub to make you feel better and to make the contractions more effective.
• One of the most effective pregnancy care tips is to walk around to help your labor move along.
• To minimize nausea, take prenatal supplements with your dinner.
• Increase your intake of foods rich in cholesterol and fats to have a better absorption of fat soluble vitamins.
Avoid salt and drink plenty of water to help avoid hypertension and high blood pressure.
• If your legs and feet are swelling, it is recommended that you walk often.
Keep track of the foods that you are eating to see if you are following your daily requirements.
• Pregnant women usually have muscle cramps when sleeping. To reduce cramping, place pillows under your feet and your knees.
