So you have just gone through umpteen models of dell laptops, Lenovo laptops, Sony laptops and many other well known brands and you have managed to pick an ideal model. Well, the bad news is that your work is far from over and you still need to take good care of your laptop if you wish to dramatically increase its lifespan. As a proud owner of the laptop, it is your responsibility to keep your device in the best possible condition and to follow basic tips and tricks to take care of it.
Of course, you will also need to dust the keyboard and wipe the screen of your laptop from time to time in order to ensure that it is clean and free from bacteria and germs that can be harmful for your health. You should keep your laptop in a cool and well-ventilated environment so that it does not heat up fast. Also, keeping your laptop on a hard surface like a desk instead of pillows or your lap ensures that you won’t be blocking the fan grills of the laptop that are present at the bottom, back and the sides. If you block these grills then the laptop will heat up in no time due to poor ventilation and there is the danger of a conflagration.
All of us must have had a lot of fun touching the LCD screens with our fingers and watching the waves that are generated by the pressure, but this isn’t as enjoyable for the LCD screens. These screens are extremely fragile and they must be cared for, so it is advisable to stop playing or touching the screen. If you need to use your laptop on the go then ensure that you have a decent carrying case in order to keep it safely and protect it in case of sudden impact. Most of the laptops these days, like hp laptops, Toshiba laptops and so on come with a briefcase or a backpack that is especially designed for the purpose of accommodating laptops in such a way that they would be protected from shocks.
It would also be a good idea to invest in keyboard protectors or an LCD protector. It is astonishing how these inexpensive buys can go a long way when it comes to protecting your laptop’s screen from scratches and your keyboard from spills and crumbs of food that accidentally land on your keyboard. If you don’t want hairline scratches on the surface of your laptop screen then you should use a lint free cloth.
What is the best item that you can use for cleaning your keyboard and getting the dust out of those small crevices? Well, contrary to the popular belief, do not use a vacuum cleaner because this device is too powerful and it can cause displacement of the laptop’s internal parts. It would be safer to use a soft static brush in order to pick up the dust from the tiny crevices. As far as possible, ensure that your laptop does not get bumped or dropped ever because strong impacts on it can be quite fatal.
