Symptom and Remedial Solution of Ringworm Treatment

Ringworm is a common fungal infection resulting from dermatophytes that causes itching and unpleasant experience. Appearing mostly on scalp, nails, feet, hand and groin, this highly contagious infection should be immediately treated or it can cause some severe problems like increased pain, fever, swelling and redness.
What is Ringworm?

Ringworm is a common fungal infection that results from dermatophytes, a microscopic organism living on the dead skin layer. Anyone can get affected by this disease and especially if a person lives in hot and humid climate or has direct contact with wound on pet or has a weaker immune system, the person is more prone to ringworm. Antifungal essential oils are the most effective and natural means of treating ringworm. If the ringworm wound fails to respond to this antifungal medication after one week of treatment then the person should immediately seek the doctor advice. Generally ringworm infections are not so serious but sometime it may results in increased pain, fever, swelling, redness or drainage.

Treatment of Ringworm

There are several types of ringworm and some ringworm infection get cured without any treatment but some type of ringworm infections require proper medical treatment where an anti fungal medications cream are applied on the lesions. A person suffering from ringworm needs to apply anti fungal cream to the lesion and one inch beyond the wound. This cream should be twice applied daily for a minimum of two weeks and should be continued for another one week after the wound disappear. The infected area should always be kept dry and clean as this infection is highly contagious. A person should maintain hygiene by properly washing the hand and body and laundering the clothes and linen of the infectious person. Anti fungal therapy is ideal if a person is suffering from only one or two lesions.
