Figures being released by brands in the automotive sector for July may suggest that the UK car economy is starting to recover, or at least has had a decent July. Brands such as Skoda have come out and said they are up on sales year on year. Now BMW has come out and said they are up 7.6% year on year for July, in terms of sales.
Over the course of July 129,094 BMW, MINI and Rolls Royce models were sold. Year to date, BMW has delivered 962,468 units, which is a 17.9% improvement compared to the first 7 months of last year (816,014 units). Remember these figures do not include used BMW in London sales figures, but I can reassure you these are doing well too.
Ian Robertson, member of the Board of Management of BMW AG, responsible for Sales and Marketing: "We have just reported the most successful July sales ever and we are well on our way to achieving our recently announced target of over 1.6 million vehicles in 2011, the best ever sales result for the BMW Group.
