Estimated angler-athletes, success depends on catching bait at 50-80%.
During the competition, on average, an athlete uses about 5 kg of dry weight of the bait. Composition of the sport of bait is very complex and different variants of a population of about 10-30 components. On the "amateur" fishing (in competition) athletes use a simple bait, consisting of fewer components. This is due to the fact that many of the components are very expensive and growth of the catch, they give little. At the competition, this increase is important, but for recreational fishing can be neglected. Also on the "amateur" Fishing is almost no competition, so use a full-fledged sport bait does not make sense. Every athlete has their own "secret" ingredients, mixes and methods of preparation and use of bait and, of course, they are not given here. And yet here we give the main principles of preparation and use of bait, the basic list of most components and their functions.

For "amateur" Fishing is more than enough, and if you decide to do sports, then over time will develop their own mix and you will have your "secret" ingredients. Another difference from the amateur sport of bait is that competitions are held in reservoirs with certain parameters (limited by depth, velocity, etc.), and on recreational fishing, you can get into all sorts of conditions. Flow may be so strong that no sport bait will not lie on the bottom. On the amateur fishing you usually are not interested in detail, respectively, and bait it should not attract too intense. There are several other differences from the amateur sport of bait, but more on that later.

We now proceed directly to the description of the use and preparation of bait. Feeding consists of the following parts, each of which has its own meaning:

Basis - is designed for delivery to the catching of other components. This is usually a mixture with low-calorie flavor and aroma;
aromatics - to attract the fish to the fishing grounds with the smell. Flavors can be both powder and liquid. Powder aromatics "weathered" slower, hence, the intensity of flavor is less, but more time than that of liquid air fresheners. The message is clear - to better use within the aromatic powder, and at slack water - liquid supplements;
aft - to stop and hold the approaching fish in the fishery;
binder - increases the dilution of the bait in the flow and allows the lure to throw one ball at a sufficient distance;
rippers - give the bait disintegrate into smaller particles to increase the effect of other components (aromatics, aft);
dyes - give an attractive bait for the fish color;
flavors - to make the bait attractive to fish taste;
Weights - bait faster and more drops to the bottom of the fishery;
agents of appetite - it is clear from the title;
components, creating a haze, - attract fish to the fishery due to the visual effect.
General tips for preparing baits

All components except millet, rice cereal and peas should be carefully sifted, or even grind. All components of the bait should be delivered to the place of fishing in separate packages. Sunflower seed, hemp, flax and pumpkin seeds, and nuts should be fried before grinding. Not perezhgite them because they will smell very differently. Sunflower seeds and pumpkin seeds, nuts and fry for a meal, maybe a little stronger. Grinding using a powerful blender or meat grinder with a fine grid. Grind seeds on hand grinder is quite difficult (occupation instead of bodybuilding) for 1 kg of seeds takes about 20 minutes.

To prepare the bait on the lake you'll need a bucket or basin with a capacity of about 5 - 10 liters (I stress that this is for recreational fishing, the competition is much more capacity). Pour into a gratin, and bran. Top up with water so that the bait has turned wet, and mix thoroughly. Then add all other ingredients except the clay and oatmeal. Baits should slightly stick together into a ball under compression. If necessary, add water. After that, add cereal and clay.

Essences should be diluted in water (about 1 - 2 cups) and add it with bryzgalki. The second option of adding an aromatic essences - add it to the water in which the bait is diluted. Aromatic powder should be added in dry breadcrumbs or bran just before the mixtures.

If you intend to fish all day, then divide into 2 parts bait and started to dilute the first part, and after dinner the second part. Thus, your bait will be fresh in the afternoon. In no case, do not leave until the next diluted bait fishing (even if you go the next day). Bait has the ability to quickly turn sour, and you spoil yourself fishing.

Keep in mind that the maggot was added to the bait, has a habit of crawling out of a bucket. Watch this. Add to lure maggots and moth can be in unlimited quantities. From this will only get better. Because these components are expensive, in their recipes, I have fairly small number of them.

Many athletes use for their proprietary concentrates baits that combine most of the functions of bait (aromatics, flavor, colorant, the causative agent of appetite, etc.). The use of these baits is controversial among athletes because of the brand is constantly changing baits and you can not always find in the store you want. In addition, the brand of bait can be expensive. Domestic, and most imported baits coming into our market, are at best a mixture of bread crumbs and bran, colored particles of the same bread crumbs, a little grain, plus some or flavoring (vanilla, sunflower seeds, coriander, etc.).

Enjoy the bait quite comfortable using them as a basis. Of course, this bait without additional additives - this is several times better than a favorite of all our anglers millet porridge. Therefore, once tasted the finished bait bag, bought at the store, most of the fishermen for a long time become ardent admirers of the bait. But at home you can easily make a good bait, and it will cost you 2-3 times cheaper.

What is use of the brand, so it's flavor concentrates. Not bad-proven Polish aromatics "Kremcus" in small round plastic jars. Their cost is comparable to 1 kg of sunflower seeds, and a jar lasts about 5-7 kg of dry mix. An even stronger concentration of the additives are produced in Germany under the same name, but in high rectangular cans. Unfortunately, increasing the concentration of aromatics in these jars do not correspond to an increase in prices.

Domestic flavors that I could try, had a very faint odor. Although the instructions on the package was labeled a "one teaspoon per 1 kg", hardly a whole tin of such a "concentrate" could aromatize kilogram of bait. When choosing a flavor to remember the following. In mixed with the smell of the bait should concentrate easily "determined." Do not "knock down" the most powerful scent and not hardly "captured." And if the store you will be assured that that jar with the flavor, the smell of which you can barely identify in its pure form, will attract fish from great distances - do not believe. In pure form, flavor should have a very strong odor intensity can be compared with the aroma of roasted sunflower seeds and svezheperemolotyh. Of the best flavors that I had to use it, you can call 200 (250)-gram package "VAN DEN EYNDE" and "SENSAS". Purchase such supplements can only be in Moscow or abroad, so the detail we will not consider them. Liquid supplements company, namoy opinion, less effective than the powder because they are made of oil-based and practically insoluble in water. If you still have an oil-based additives, then add them to the lure as follows: Pour water into a small bottle with a cork, add the aromatics and shake strongly, and then immediately pour the water in solid foods. This way you are more evenly distribute the aromatics on the bait.
