With psychics becoming more and more popular over recent years, what can this sudden growth in interest be put down to?

Many experts, psychics and studies have shown the growing popularity in the human race for visiting psychics, a spiritual phenomenon which dates back centuries.
Many are calling it a “spiritual awakening” but why the sudden growth in interest?

Psychic readings are enlightening experiences, readings which are empowering and extraordinary. Since the new millennium dawned, the amount of people interested in seeing a psychic to find out about what their future holds has slowly increased. Many think this is due to the rebirth of the earth when the millennium hit, a sort of “new era” where people and families evaluated themselves and their futures. At a time of reflection, many people visited psychic readers to enable them to prepare for whatever their life has coming.

Of course, it is not just the new millennium which has caused some people to have a renewed curiosity of the self.
Since the recession, more families have struggled to make ends meet. Psychics have noted the increased subject matter in financial and career issues, questions such as “will I ever earn more money?” “should I apply for another job?” or “shall I downsize my property” were becoming more frequent. Tarot readers also noted this increase in financial concern as well as a flux in interest after world events, such as September 11th which plunged the world into shock and disbelief.

The increase in psychic readings also runs closely to the increase in the number of divorces in the last decade. The UK Government reported that the rate in divorces has risen, with more people finding it difficult to make relationships work. The intrigue in love and matters of the heart has always been a popular cause of discussion for psychics, but with more people struggling to find the right partner, this may also be another reason why the human race appears to have more interest in psychics.

The awareness of the gifts which psychics possess has also been documented more often on the television, with shows such as “Most Haunted” or “Psychic Sally” aired several times a week. The curiosity of what happens after you die is something that humans have a natural eagerness to learn, and hearing from psychics on television about contacting spirits goes someway to satisfying this curiosity. This has led more people to visit clairvoyants who are able to contact passed family members and loved ones, transferring messages and offering some people peace that their friend or family member is okay in the afterlife.
