Different from what people imagine, PTFE film adopts neither the blow molding production nor curtain coating production process that the film is chopped from a cylinder blank.

Ptfe film belongs to one kind of fluoride materials. It has high temperature characteristic. This material is non-combustible, so it is used for insulation. In all solid plastics, PTFE has a minimum of the friction coefficient. Its lasting flexural strength exceeds significantly the other two kinds of fluoride plastics-fluoride fullerenes ethylene-propylene (FEP) and fluoride oxygen silanes (PFA). But PTFE has weaknesses: in 327 ℃ and above, it still has a high melting liquid viscosity and has high gap sensitivity. So the ordinary forming methods, such as injection molding, extrusion and blowing are hard to process PTFE.

The production is different from the production of polyethylene film, because there is another procedure to compete before the white powder becomes the thin and transparent PTFE membrane. That is, in room temperature, PTFE raw materials shall be pressed into pre-forming pieces. Then the pre-forming pieces will be heated in above crystallization point temperature, namely, melting point for sintering. Thus, it forms insoluble sintering block (blank).

In general, the heating temperature is around 380 ℃ at best. After sintering the blank density of the teflon film is between 2.1 and 2.3 g/ml according to its processing conditions and different formed crystals. If the cooling process is slow, the density will be higher. Then materials have high crystal strength, high hardness and high stability. Sintering under pressure is able to make the blank gain higher density and intensity without fine holes. This is the prerequisite to get ultrathin membrane.

After the above pre-forming sintering is completed, we can undertake film cut work. All the operation components that are used in film cut equipment are concentrated into a signal controller, which is installed on the right seat of the machine and is able to turn to all the directions. Thus, the operators can run control the machine with the buttons on this signal controller, for example, installing the blank or cut feeding, etc. The thickness of cutting film and the speed are chosen on this control plate. When the film thickness and blank RPM are set, the electronic controller can decide the feeding speed automatically.
