Many Indian TV programs made a remarkable entrance in the world of entertainment and gained its popularity by delivering Indian programs globally. They are appreciated and admired by many as they target mostly on Indian culture and snobbish background.
Indian movies went under production during the arrival of the Indian film industry which saw the birth of the first short film in India. Directed by Hiralal Sen, "The Flower of Persia" was made in1898 and was shot in Bombay, now Mumbai. This was the beginning of the Indian cinema in theaters and laid the foundation of a new desi cinematic look in the country. The year was reigned by the British Raj while the country was struggling to get rid of the English clutches. India was surrounded by patriotism and many freedom fighters rose from every corner of the nation to fight and win their independence. The country was rolled into turbulence and disturbance while many people lost their interest in entertainment and where soon engaged in revolution. This was the time when the first Indian movie was made on 1913, during the British reign this was the first full-length motion picture. "Raja Harischandra" was directed and produced by Dadasaheb Phalke , a scholar who worked on India's languages and culture.

It was a silent movie that was made in Marathi while the female roles were played by male actors. This led in the evolution of the movie making and saw a new beginning in the field of entertainment in India. Now, people began to move towards the theaters to enjoy movies as a part of recreation while many film-makers began generating movies in different ways. One such example was seen when "Alam Ara" made its first appearance on the Indian soil, becoming the first Indian talkies film. The film was directed by Ardeshir Irani and was released on 14th March 1931 while movies like "Bhakta Prahlada" in Telugu and "Kalidas" in Tamil followed the suite and were released on September and October in the same year. Since then, thousands of Indian movies made and marked a new genre of entertainment that highlighted Indian culture, untouchability and caste system while they reflected the snobbish look between the families.

Today, Indian movies have managed to gain international fame since its arrival of the first movie of the nation. Since, then many TV providers have tried out to promote and supply the movies through their desi TV packages. They broadcast the movies on various south Asian channels for its Indian viewers as well as for the foreigners. Not only the movies made their way globally, while many TV shows and Indian programs have managed to pull global attention.
