Sugars are a form of carbohydrates and these are pretty good for your body, given that you eat the right amounts of the right kinds.

The molecules of the glucose then start circulating through your bloodstream and supply the cells which need energy replenishment with their needed fuel. The glucose that is extra gets converted into glycogen, and the glycogen is stored in the liver and the muscles. In case your body has already made a supply of glycogen then all the extra that is left gets converted into fat. The preferred source of energy for your body is glycogen or glucose, but in case they are depleted it can use the reserve fuel and indeed fat.
