If you often find you have nothing to wear, it could actually be that you have too many clothes. When your closet is
cluttered with items that no longer do the job, it can blind you to the items that will still make for great outfits. If this
sounds familiar then it is time for a wardrobe purge. Make your way through your clothing, trying everything on as you go,
and ask yourself, in all honesty, if you would buy it again. Question whether an item is still comfortable to wear, and does
it still make you feel confident. If the answer to any of these questions is no, put it aside for the charity shop. After
your clear out you should be left with a wardrobe that is a lot less cluttered, with plenty of room in your closet for brand
new clothes that suit you better.
When you want to rejuvenate your wardrobe, it is a good idea to get to work on your everyday clothes, including trousers,
blouses, basic tees, and your lingerie. Having a proper collection of simple basic items will give you a solid base with
which to build a varied selection of ensembles.
The best way to put together some new outfits is to spend some time figuring out what your own personal style is like. Tear
out or photocopy photos of celebrity outfits that take your fancy and stick them in a scrapbook. Every good stylist is
constantly hunting for new looks and trends from sources like newspaper supplements and celebrity and fashion bibles like
Vogue to old film and music annuals. If you want to craft a style that is all your own, it can pay to seek out as many
sources of inspiration as possible, as if your search is limited only to modern style mags, you will probably end up creating
a style that is just like everyone else.
You should not need to empty your wallet to reinvent your look. Head to the high street or online for a great way to mix and
match styles that are new to you without spending a lot and celebrities and style mavens the world over are more than happy
to pair up high end designer with items straight off the high street creating a brand new trend in the process. Make sure
that you scour the second hand shops and vintage boutiques too, as this is a great way to find totally unique eclectic items
at affordable prices. Do not be afraid to mix secondhand with new, affordable high street items with quality designerwear,
for a unique look that is all your own.
