While setting up a commercial printing business would definitely require some capital, it doesn’t really have to cost you much. There are many ways you can do as a newly established commercial printer, for you to be able to spend less and save more. Being frugal will become very handy specially that you are still new and you still need to look for customers who will order printing jobs to your printing company on a regular basis . Some of the things you can do are the following;

a. Find a commercial space which does not cost much – You don’t really need a huge sophisticated office space. All you need is a space big enough to become your front office where you will cater to the orders of your customers. Your office needs to be presentable enough for you to build a good impression to these customers. Put up posters that will educate them on the different printing services you offer. If you want your office to be somewhere in the city or district where you can easily have access to many people, that is fine; however, you do not have to have your warehouse where you do actually do printing jobs in there. That will cost you much. Rather, you can rent a space somewhere in the suburbs which would definitely not cost as much as those which can be found in the district area.

b. Buy a second hand delivery truck instead of a brand a new one – Instead of spending a lot for a brand new vehicle, find one that is second hand but still works well. You will be able to save a lot out of this. And when you buy a second hand truck, see to it that it’s still working well and won’t give you plenty of problems because in the end you might only end up spending more in having it repaired. If you can actually go without a vehicle, that would be better. You can just ask your clients to pick up their orders instead of you having to deliver it to them. This is especially beneficial if you are starting as a small printing company.

c. Put only a few employees on board – Don’t hire a lot of employees because from the start, you will only get a few printing orders most definitely. When you hire plenty of employees and you are not receiving as much orders yet, your operational costs will be very high and you’ll end up losing a great deal of money instead of earning them.

d. Employ free or cheap marketing campaigns – You can advertise your new business by releasing a press release in a newspaper in your area. Most of the time, the newspaper can offer this to you for free. You can also advertise for a small fee in a local newspaper or you may distribute flyers as well, which isn’t that expensive.

Starting and maintaining a commercial printing business will definitely cost you some amount of cash. You need to be prepared for it. It doesn’t really actually have to cost much. By employing the above simple measures for you to save on the cost, you can still use your money on other things that can help you improve your business. In the long run, you will get to realize that being frugal or thrifty in simple matters related to your business will help you save a lot as a commercial printer.
