While making a film there are minimum chances for it to run successful at the theaters and if the film is made on a mammoth budget then there are hardly any chances for a profit recovery if it flops at the box office. It is for this reason; producers have switched in making TV serials which are cheaper while the profit is huge. Channels like Star Plus USA, colors channels, Sony TV and many like them have done well and made handsome revenue in a short span. Looking deeper, even the actors of daily soaps manage to earn on regular bases and if they are appreciated by the audiences through their acting skills they make a permanent place in the TV program.
By now, it is clear that why TV shows drive about 70 % of total profit. People, especially the women are more towards watching the TV serials on regular bases and it is for them that the daily soaps manage to draw handsome profit. On the other end, many producers have looked into the profitable side and for this reason they moved towards the small screen. At the end, it really doesn't matter that whether the desi TV shows are cut copy paste or have different stories but what concerns is the audiences like watching such shows while the serial makers are busy counting their investments. So, counting on this, employing south asian channels as a part of entertainment would be a smart move for everyone.
