Have you ever seen how many people visit garage sales and used stores? If you just pay a small bit of attention to the way people flock to garage sales, estate sales, auctions, and used stores, you should be able to tell that there is money to be made with used items.

How to start a used item company with only a few bucks

Okay, you do not have any money or only a lets say $30 to invest in your new business adventure. What you do not think, that’s not enough? It is, just watch how the method works.

Look through the classified ads section of the newspaper. Look for garage sales, yard sales, etc… Visit the sales on the last day of their sale. Check and see what they have left that you might be able to sale and make a profit. Some items could be furniture, kids clothing, and even old LP records. Start up a conversation. Ask if they would be willing to take less than the price tag if you purchased – name all the items you wish to buy to resale. Before you buy, think about how much you believe you can make by reselling the items. You want to make a profit. It would be best if you purchased items so you could double your money.

In some cases, once you begin talking with the person you may learn they are going to throw everything away that does not sell or give it to the Goodwill. If this is what you learn, you can easily say I will give you $10 for everything. In some cases, you will be surprised that most people will agree to deal or may just give you everything at the end of the garage sale. Of course, not every item left over will be worth reselling, but you will be starting on your inventory.

You may not get much furniture for this amount of money, but you will be able to get some kids clothing. Look at what you purchased. This is just an example, but will give you a good idea. Let’s say you purchased three garbage bags of clothing, 1 bag of toys, a potty chair, and a high chair all for $10. You should be able to receive 25 cent to one dollar for each clothing item and the toys, according to the shape they are in. The high chair should be worth at least $5 and the potty chair around $2.

Now, go online and put up an ad on a free classified ad website. Use a catchy title, then describe the clothing and other items, and remember to put your contact information. Once you sell these items, you will have received probably at least $20 or more. Now, use this money, purchase more items, and do the same thing over again. Before long you will have enough money to start buying furniture and reselling it.
