However, safety should be an important aspect of partying that we should put more than a little focus on when planning a party.
Whenever you mix alcohol, birthday candles and people that are having way too much, disaster can ensue. If this is something that comes off to you as insane paranoia, then there are literally hundreds of videos online you can watch that showcase people getting involved in some very dangerous events during parties.
A good way to break the ice, as always, is a few with a few drinks . However, if alcohol is not really your thing, then you should plan activities that everyone can participate in. Wine tasting is a popular activity with certain crowds. The right games also set everyone's moods in the proper place. It's all about knowing your guests, and finding a common ground for them to explore.
Any party, whether it's formal or informal, be it a corporate or intimate function, requires the right kind of music. However, with the diverse tastes everyone has when it comes to music, it's hard to choose what exactly to put on the playlist that would not just sooth the tired minds and hearts of our guests, but to actually put them in a mood more in line with the intention of the party. Some cases, knowing your guests' tastes is not enough to make the decision any easier. Some parties have suffered from the wrong kind of music. Either it's too loud, too boring, too uptight, too loose, and you'd be surprised that some people actually tend to leave the party early because of the music.
The key to throwing a party that is safe while still being fun and memorable lies in the guest list. If you know everyone on the guest list, then you would be able to anticipate the kinds of scenarios these people would get involved in. If there are a few reckless people in your bunch, then you'd be able to prepare. Accidents also occur often, so be sure to keep dangerous objects stashed somewhere safe, particularly if there are going to be children involved.
