It is true that the banking jobs have brought about a huge shift in the manner in which government jobs are sought after by people and to a large extent, SBI recruitment has been pivotal in the whole scenario. It is because of the presence of nationalised banks like SBI, that the common man in India is hopeful of a great future and stable careers. Bank jobs had been known to people in India after the time of independence, when government was keen on strengthening its economic profile with the help of the banks.

A few years after the country regained its independence, the State Bank of India was formed by the merger of few of the existing banks, in order to streamline the money transactions of the citizens. Since that time, the SBI has been active as the custodian of people’s money in form of bank accounts where deposits and withdrawals were the common work profile. As the social and economic expansion of the country progressed, the functions of the banks extend into insurance, loans, mutual funds and other forms of investments. They shed their garb of being custodians of money and instead became the money growers. Encouraged by the endeavours of the public sector banks, the common man also started to repose his faith on the banks and invested the money.

From humble beginnings, the State Bank of India has now become the top most public sector bank in the country in terms of customer base and financial transactions. It is because of such expansions, that there is need of more personnel who are skilled in banking sector, to take up the specialised functions of the banks. SBI recruitment aims at filling up the various posts in the banks across the length and breadth of the nation. In order to fill up the vacancies, State Bank of India conducts entrance exams for the probationary officer posts, and the recruits are then posted in different branches and divisions of the SBI.

Starting their jobs as trainees, these recruits go on to become the managers, handling the responsibilities of different divisions of banking. Nowadays, lakhs of students are appearing for the SBI recruitment and putting in their applications for the bank PO exams, which are held every year. In the coming years, there would be a mass recruitment process to recruit thousands of employees for different branches and divisions of SBI. This is reason enough for the bank job aspirants to cheer about. Some of the other reasons, why SBI recruitment is so much sought after, are:

Good pay, better finances – The employees of the banks are one of the best paid in the entire country. Their salaries are commensurate with those of the central government employees and come with a number of perks and benefits.

Stability – Once the recruits are employed in the full time posts, it is only a forward movement for them as they get promoted as the year passes. According to the posts and promotions, people get the increments and their salaries keep on rising.

There are plenty of such reasons which make the SBI recruitment, one of the most awaited events for the banking job aspirants. With such benefits, it is difficult for the citizens of India to desist the allure of the bank jobs and the prosperous life ahead.
