When visiting the Cleveland area, one of the biggest of the Cleveland attractions will naturally be the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The history of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is nearly as fascinating as the music that it presents to the world.

About 25 years ago, many different leaders who had been instrumental in presenting rock and roll to the world got together in New York City to celebrate the music and the many different artists and musicians who had quite literally changed the world when it came to music.
From that meeting, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Foundation came into being. Their mission was to recognize the many different contributions of the people who had made a serious impact on the world. They had contributed to the development, the evolution of rock and roll music. They planned to do this by creating the Hall of Fame and inducting significant contributors into it.
The Architect who was chosen to design and create the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame had not been a student of Rock and Roll and in fact, didn't know a single thing about it, so the design was a real challenge to him. I.M. Pei was selected to design the Rock and Roll Half of Fame Museum. He had a great deal of research to do and in fact, went to concerts, to the various cities that were part of the Rock History and really had to work hard to come to the conclusion. We heard a lot of music, and I finally got it: rock and roll is about energy. In 1995, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame became a physical presence, opening their doors to thousands of Fans per week and becoming one of the main Cleveland attractions.
