Hot deals can attract food enthusiasts during holiday season that is estimated to register an average 20 to 25 per cent of total annual retail sales, according to the National Retail Federation.

Will this holiday season be lucky for restaurants? Analysts are expecting a mix trend, but sure of the power of great promotions or unambiguously stated restaurant coupons in connecting to the cost-conscious foodies.
Anecdotal evidences have showed that retailers defy the lackluster consumer confidence by upping the ante that is by offering best deals to buyers.
Massive promotions can lead to high retail sales. The ever recorded sales of $52 billion during Thanksgiving weekend might have been driven by concentration of retail strategy on bargains.
“Our concern is that deep discounting in November pulled forward sales out of December,” Ken Perkins, president of Retail Metrics told Reuters.
Free delivery specials and other hot deals can attract shopping aficionados during holiday season that is estimated to register an average 20 to 25 per cent of total annual retail sales, according to the national retail federation (NRF).
For instance, Restaurant.com holiday special discount program ‘Feed it Forward’ has recorded sale of $32 million worth vouchers in last three years. Restaurant.com launched program to enable its buyers present $10 eGift Cards to their kith and kin through Christmas. This year a participant can give away 40 cards in a day to cheer his/her loved ones with an opportunity to take meals in near 10,000 partnered restaurants.
Buyers prefer to acquire daily deals to saving money. Their searches for bargains catch intensity in November and December.
Topnotch daily deal websites have prepared special promos for foodies this season. LivingSocial, bending literally itself backward to win over its rival Groupon, has partnered with McDonald’s to distribute meal vouchers. The No.2 has sold out one million coupons for Whole Foods Market amazingly in 14 hours in September.
A deal of the day can enable a person to take haute couture meal at incredibly low price, for example.
Fast food restaurants have bright likelihood of sale upswing in the two months on the back of restaurant coupons.
While grub sales can be boosted through coupons and vouchers, casual dining eateries have la carte that may have non-standardized prices.
Barclays Capital’s analyst forecast growing sale figures for all sub-segments of restaurants including quick service, casual dining, and specialty eateries in the holiday season.
An analyst at Barclays said quick service is likely to record 4.3 per cent uptick in fourth quarter and casual dining would revenue pick up 1.5 per cent.
The reasons, he shared with Reuters, were shopping days, Christmas, and back-to-school shopping. True, special days are like jewel in the crown of wintery gala.
Noticeably with four per cent expected growth, quick service would be the highest growing consumer sector.
Food and beverages are the integral part and parcel of any celebration. Although, the dusts of 2008 crisis have settled down to a greater extent, consumers have not regained buying capacity of heydays.
Therefore, daily deals become the need of the day. Restaurateurs are suggested to keep an eye on a raft of traffics that can be driven by restaurant coupons. Past experiences have borne out their significance in driving sales.
