As per the recent rumors in the Indian car market the French automaker Renault is all set and going to launch a new hatchback for B and B+ segment in India, christened as Renault B58. It is speculated that Renault's B58 will give a tough competition to Maruti Swift. It is expected that this new Renault B58 is designed on a V platform, which is used in Nissan Micra, Nissan Almera and Nissan Sunny. The new Renault B58 will be available in both petrol and diesel variant. The petrol variant of the hatchback Renault B58 will come infixed with a 1.2 litre petrol engine and a 1.5 litre diesel engine.

The exterior of this new hatchback from French giant Renault B58 is quite familiar to Maruti Wagon R as both cars uses a tall boy kind of design. As per the internal sources this new hatchback car has been designed in Mumbai. Renault India has designed this new hatchback keeping in mind the Indian driving environment. It is expected that the design and other features of Renault B58 will provides a high levels of localization. Renault is still working on the project and the marketing process of the car is still in the progress. It is rumored that Renault might change the name of this exquisite hatchback car.

Furthermore, this new hatchback from Renault will be face off at Auto Expo in New Delhi in 2012. and three months after the show the official launch might be done. As per grapevine. Renault is producing this new hatchback in collaboration with Renault Duster and the B+ section sedan, this hatchback B58 is speculated to fall in the lower half of the product line of Renault India.

Renault India is planning to adopt aggressive strategy as company is planning to enhance the dealership to 1000 by 2012 and aiming to gain the spot in the list of non Indian car manufacturer who provide low priced small cars in India. Along with Maruti Swift, Maruti Alto and Hyundai Santro are likely to be the major rivals of Renault B58.
