In present era, people are more inclined towards modern lifestyle and they prefer to do the things in which minimum effort is required. Living green is one of the best ways to save our mother earth. More and more families are learning to live green. It is the best way to live life today because this will help a lot in minimizing the pollution. Teach every members of the family to begin living green and it should daily part of the life.
Little kids should also taught how to begin living green and this will remain in your for long run. Conserving energy is also another best way of living green. The more energy you conserve the better will be the environment. Instead of watching television you can tell your kids to go to the park instead or in the garden to play. Children are the most being of this world and they need to be taken great care. Whatever clothes or goods you buy for children, make sure that it is free from chemicals and it should be eco friendly. Parents should refrain themselves from buying the goods made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC). The products which are made from PVC are packed with many preservatives that come in contact with the environment and pose chemical risks to people especially the children.
Another ingredient that poses some threat to one’s health is the phthalates, which makes PVC plastics softer, more stretchy and sturdy. According to study, phthalates have been connected severe diseases like endocrine disorders, abnormalities in the reproductive system, asthma, kidney damage and liver cancer. Try to limit the use of plastic also as it is harming the environment and most plastic materials take time long time to get decayed. Abstain using plastic for every item that you buy and one plastic bag saved by each buyer could mean millions of benefit to our mother earth.
You should be very careful while using plastic materials including toys. There are many negative effects on health for using plastic materials.
• Stay away from plastics that contain the recycling codes 3 (PVC), 6 (PS) and 7 (other)
• Only buy sippy cups and bottles that are "BPA free." These are safer for children
• Do not use plastic containers to heat foods in a microwave
• Preserve food with PVS-free plastic wrap
• Look for toys that say phthalate-free or PVC-free on the labeling
• Throw away any plastic spoons, plates, sippy cups or bottles that have scratches on them
We can also teach our children about recycling and how to take care of the environment. Here are few steps which can be helpful in this aspect:
• Model eco-friendly habits by using recycled supplies for art projects. Purchase recycled paper.
• Plant a garden with the children. Harvest the crops and enjoy a healthy snack
• Take nature hikes or walk around the premises and discuss how various plants and animals help the environment
The plastic which are used in food containers and bottles often contain dangerous materials. The chemicals in plastic give rise to broad range of health problems. So, it’s better to stop using plastic and look for another material which is health friendly.
