Red is a popular color, if not the most popular color out there. It is used for different purposes and is worn by many folks, including me.
Red is a popular color, if not the most popular color out there. It is used for different purposes and is worn by many folks, including me. In the past I would wear red all the time. Some folks wear this color just to stand out, or not. For years, and longer, this color has been used in numerous designs of flags and other objects. Especially when attached to flag poles, this color stands out like a positive sore thumb.

Interestingly, the word red is associated with the color of blood in English. In the Sanskrit language, the word "redhira" actually means red or blood. Red is associated not with the color of blood alone, but also flowers and fruits.

I have asked folks what they would think of first when pondering the color red. The planet Mars is an answer that was more popular than others since Mars is called the "red planet." The planet's reddish color is most dominant in terms of its surface. The reason for this is the iron oxide that is very much present in the planet's surface material.

This color is the warmest of all, and is chosen or picked mostly by extroverts and males, especially. Even though this color can have different meaning(s), the most negative feelings associated with this color are temper and anger. On the hand, and however, this color means posterity and joy in the country of China. Interestingly, red is also Tuesday's color.

The use of this color by communists dates back to the time when Europeans would use a red colored flag during times of revolution. The Red Star in facts dates from the Russian Regulars coming home from the events of the 2nd World War. They would color their respective stars red, with the symbolism of the color being blood.

Unlike other colors, red seems to capture people's attention easily. It is used in more of negative manner at times to indicate (potentially) dangerous situations, but also in a positive manner when used for purposes of advertising. In comparison to all the other colors we have, the color red probably carries the strongest reaction. As a result of the latter this color is for different purpose of signaling, including lights and signs.

The fascinating use of this discussed color with flags is often times closely interwoven with historical events as well, this reflecting the aspirations and lives of countless people taken over many centuries. I personally have always felt uplifted when I see historical flags hoisted on modern flag poles.
