Prozac also known as Fluoxetine is an oral drug that is used for treating depression. Fluoxetine belongs to a class of medications called selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). It is used for the treatment of depression and helps to elevate mood. Insomnia, weakness, and loss of appetite are among the most common side effects reported with Prozac. While taking this medication you should be aware that your mental health may change in rather abnormal ways. There are some that become suicidal and this is especially true within the first few weeks of taking it.
