When companies think of marketing, they think of commercials for television and radio, ads in newspapers and magazines and billboards. Not very often do they think of steins. What is a stein exactly and why should it be a part of your marketing budget?
Simply put, a stein is a German beverage holder that is known around the world for Oktoberfest. These large mugs hold a large amount of beer, coffee, tea and hot chocolate and they are often decorated quite nicely. Some come made of silver, ceramics, stone, bone and even wood. They are most recognized for their lid that is opened with a thumb lever by the beverage drinker. Why is this something that should be part of your marketing budget? The reason is that promotional steins are a great way to advertise your company to hundreds of people at a very low cost.
With a newspaper advertisement, you pay a few hundred dollars and a few thousand people see your ad. With a commercial, a few thousand people see or hear the commercial, but it costs you thousands of dollars to air. However, with promotional steins, you spend a few dollars and hundreds of people see the mug with your logo and company name on it. That is the marketing power of any promotional item, including promotional steins.
In a typical scenario, when you give your customers a stein with your logo and company name on it, they will be quite impressed with the gift as it is no ordinary mug. The customer will use the promotional steins often, often in front of company. The great thing about that is whenever they take it out for family and friends, you are being advertised. Every time someone drinks out of the stein, they are unconsciously absorbing your logo and company name, creating brand awareness for your company. This can go on for years, even decades depending on how careful your customer is with their cups and mugs.
Marketing is about getting customers to know about your company. It is about getting your current customers coming back and finding new customers to increase your customer base. The more customers you have, the more money you bring in as a company and the more your company can expand. As a result, you should be looking at a wide variety of ways to market yourself and one of the best ways to do it, for what you get in return for the little amount you pay, is promotional products. Promotional items like promotional steins are a great way to advertise your company for years and years. Newspaper ads stay in for one week, radio and television ads stay in for a few days to a week. All of these cost you money, a lot of it. However, steins and other promotional items last for years and years and cost you very little. Doesn't that seem like a good option for your marketing budget?
