In the Indian context, the use of prefabrication building techniques in construction has many advantages. Recently, the use of prefabricated construction has increased in many housing projects. Advantages of prefabrication of building materials are multiple, as the components are ready and self-sustaining. In this technology, the formwork and scaffolding is removed, resulting in cost savings of form work. In traditional construction, the repetitive use of form work limited because it is damaged due to frequent cutting, nailing, etc.

On the other hand, the precast mould can be used for a large number of repetitions, reducing the unit cost of the mould.

In the system of prefabricated housing, there is saving of time, as the elements can be cast in advance when the foundation is laid. Even after the slab can finish and services made under the slab with the same. In the traditional in-situ RCC slabs, due to props and shuttering, the work cannot be done till these are removed. In prefabricated construction, there is a higher quality, shape and size of prefabricated elements. Therefore, in construction, full advantage of the properties of cement and steel should be taken. There is the disciplined use of expensive materials such as cement, steel and wood.

In pre-fabricated construction, same components are produced several times, resulting in increased productivity and savings in cost as well. The construction is not affected by rain, wind and weather. Work on site is minimal and therefore the work is of better quality, more reliable and cleaner. Due to the rapid completion and reduce the construction period, the houses can be occupied before, which means early returns on investment.

In urban areas, the concentration of construction activity does not justify prefabrication as people continue to prefer the traditional finish in their homes. The solution is a hybrid structure that combines the mass production of standardized roof and other parts of the (site), and in-situ masonary brick walls or other masanory structures. A variety of methods of coverage that fit these criteria have been developed and used to climb in many housing projects, like a shell on a roller coaster, animated slabs, RCC channel units, prefabricated cell, precast RC planks and beams , precast panels, brick and beams, girders RCC and hollow concrete blocks.

ProjectWell Management Pvt. Ltd, a Mumbai-based firm management development offers a modular system that uses established technologies manipulatives. The system is quick to build and reduce waste during construction. Owners will conserve water and energy during their inhabitation in housing.
