The ultra-violent video game series is certainly not dead yet.

Forget what you've heard and read about Grand Theft Auto or Modern Warfare, there is probably no well-known franchises that has been near to be as contentious as the Postal series. Ever since the first game came out 1997, these shooters basically shocked at the expense of pretty much everything and everyone, and created massive furore.

Over the years, nothing has been taboo for developer Running With Scissors, and we have seen the mocked everything from Muslims and gays to school firings and other extensive tragedies. It has created huge media coverage and even led to the games have been made illegal in both Australia and New Zealand.

Now the game site Joystiq beaten by a very quick chat with Vince Desi, who is the brains behind the concept, and he can tell that the game will be completed in Russia during these times. However, there is nothing to indicate that it will come out before the first quarter of next year.

There has been little new information to track the game after E3 in 2008, and many have assumed for the reason that the project has been shelved or simply discarded. That's what's not.

Already at that time it was a playable alpha version of the game, but it is uncertain how much of this is passed on to the finished product.
