Outdoor parties are held for wedding receptions, graduation bashes, company team buildings or birthday parties among others. Outdoors are good for parties as they say even food taken outdoors will have more flavor. Here are some tips to make your next outdoor party fun.
There are different grounds on which to hold your outdoor party. The most obvious choice is the front lawn or backyard of your garden. It is a preferred choice for many for less hassle in moving food and equipment, plus all your friends will know where your house is located. Another popular choice is the lake side or river bank. Flowing water has the effect of calming people’s nerves. This will be ideal for a quiet picnic or a romantic outing. If the sea is nearby, so much the better as there most likely will be an expansive beach on which to set up the party. There are also public parks which most likely will have a business specializing in outdoor event planning. Other possible locations include parking lots, school yards, even the zoo.
For an outdoor party, there is basic equipment needed to make it more comfortable. First among these is shelter from the elements. These can be Marquees or Party Tents. They will ensure your guests are not drenched in the event of rain or get roasted in the sun. The choice of these will be determined by the number attending. If any cooking or barbecuing will be done, cutlery, utensils, and grills will have to be tagged along with the fuel for the fire of course. For night events, a camp fire will add to the fun and so it is essential not to forget that box of matches. It also very disappointing to prepare a good barbecue only to discover that there is no water to wash the hands with. Take along a few gallons of water for drinking and washing. Finally, if the grounds have to be evened out like in a forest, shovels and digging equipment will be crucial, along with insecticides to take care of those troublesome bugs.
The main event in an outdoor party or any party for that matter is eating time. Carry processed food if you do not want to cook but put in fresh fruits for dessert. If it is a barbecue, consider taking away whole sides of beef so as to make your cuts as you like them. A wild outdoor party will also invariably have alcohol as an ingredient.
It is also good to make an activity schedule which lists who will handle what. This makes everyone involved and feeling part of the event.
Having a Party Outdoors?
It is that time of the year for end year corporate parties and family reunions. The norm is to hold these parties in ballrooms and halls. Perhaps it is time to break the routine if you are a party organizer and plan one outdoors. Most people will jump at the opportunity to have a garden party or a cookout as the fresh air and the free space brings out a wild side.
How do you make an outdoor party one that will be talked about for sometime? There are key ingredients to a great bash. Key among them is the location. An ideal location for a big party is usually a sports field or a backyard for a family cookout. The grounds should be convenient for everyone, ideally someplace that is widely known and easily accessible by public transport. To prevent a washout or heat strokes, provide some shelter. Get quality Marquees and Party Tents with consideration for space and time. Next are the attendees. If it is a corporate party, be sure to send your invites to a few who is who in the field of the company’s business. This will make the attendees, feel success rubbing off on to them from these power people. After the invites the next item is the theme of the party. An outdoor party should have a free and relaxed theme to go along with being outdoors. Setting a tuxedo theme to a garden party will stifle it, look out for ethnic for example Hawaiian themes or sporty themes with sports wear being encouraged. The key thing on themes is to let all attending know of it to avoid embarrassments and discomfort for those that may stick out.
So you have you the list and theme. Next should be the fun item. A party isn’t a party without fun right? So how do you put fun into the party? The two obvious fun items are food and music. Spicy food and light alcohol drinks are essential, with consideration for those who do not indulge of course. As for the music, have some live band especially a popular artiste. If working with a big budget, hire the best there is as chances are most of the attendees have never seen the artiste live before.
With all these considerations, a good party can be spoilt by a sloppy and incompetent Master of Ceremony. Have an experienced M.C who has the ability to set the pace of the party. Most will go for a comedian so as to keep the good humor. That is about it. Go on and organize a successful bash.
