Located in the South East of Spain, Murcia is considered to be one of the major cities of Spain.

Located in the South East of Spain, Murcia is considered to be one of the major cities of Spain. Although the city experiences semi-hot climatic condition due to the influence of the Mediterranean Sea, it receives large number of tourists every year. The beautiful natural environment and other places of importance like cathedrals, museum, etc. have made this city popular amongst tourists.
Some of the places of interest in Murcia are briefly introduced here:
Diocese of Cartagena Cathedral:
This beautiful Gothic style Cathedral is believed to have been built in 1394. Historians say that construction of this Cathedral was completed in the year 1465. However, the tower of the Cathedral is said to have been built in 1792. There is a blend of several architectural designs in the building of this Cathedral. Apart from Gothic architecture, there is blend of Renaissance, Baroque, Rococo and Neoclassical architecture. On an overall analysis, the Cathedral is one of most immaculately beautiful structures ever found in Europe. The Bishop’s palace added during the 18th century is another place worth seeing. The interior of the Cathedral is fully decorated with great works of sculpture and artifacts.
City hall:
Also called Ayuntamiento in Spanish language, this city hall is located in one of the most beautiful surroundings with the Segura River in its backdrop. The beautiful landscape around the City hall has added glamour to this already beautiful location. This place is worth seeing.
Social club:
When you visit the Traperia, you tend to visit the famous Social Club which is said to have been started in the year 1847. This Casino is popular among residents and tourists in Murcia. The Patio in the Casino is of Moorish design.
Other places of interest include Monteagudo Castle. The next place of visit is the Romea Theatre which is believed to have been built by Romans. The Almudi Palace is another place worth visiting. Those who have the thirst to know more about the place should visit Salzillo Museum which will introduce them to more about Murcia and the places surrounding it. It has a collection of many ancient works of art. The Los Jeromimos Monastery receives the highest number of visitors throughout the year. Another place of popular visit is the San Juan de Dios Church and the museums annexed to it. The El Valle regional Park and the Malecon Boulevard also receive a large number of visitors.
