In the north of Alicante at a distance of 80 km lies the Javea town of beautiful Costa Blanca. Javea has an amazing sheltered location behind a bay in the district of Marina Alta. Javea is a well known seaside area with large number of tourist visits. The population of Javea varies between 29,000 to over 100,000. It usually increases in the summer months due to visitors from around the globe. Due to the sheltered location of Javea, it enjoys a moderate climate of the Mediterranean Sea. It is also protected from cold winds coming from the northern side, particularly during the winter season. A dramatic backdrop for the town of Javea is provided by Mount Montgó. Some of the coolest archaeological remains are present in the natural park of Mount Montgó.
History and other attractions
For art and ancient history lovers, Javea has a huge collection of Artefacts on offer which reside in the Mount Montgó caves. These artefacts have an interesting theory to offer as they give evidence of human nature and norms some 16,000 years back. The activities and evidences are related to Neolithic age and Bronze age by some scientists and researchers. They also represent Iberian traditions and provide silver and gold metal remains which are considered to be made in the 2nd or 3rd century. There is a very fertile valley at the Gorgos River where Villas were constructed a few years back. Iberia is a beautiful Peninsula which was involved in the Moors’ and Arabs’ invasions. During the Arab reign, agriculture was promoted and irrigation techniques were improved. The town had been attacked by Pirates and still has evidence for history seekers.
Places to visit
The Old Quarter is famous and heavily visited due to the existence of ancient fortifications left by the pirates when they invaded this coastline. Puerto Aduanas del Mar is famous for its restaurants and gravel beaches. Arenal is a sandy area having shopping bazaars, cafés and restaurants. It has a great nightlife to offer with fantastic bars that stay open till late at night. The Montgó Natural Park, established in 1987 is a famous park spreading to 21.2 km. It presents the history of ancient man; it has evidences from Neolithic, Stone and Bronze Ages. This place is very famous for researchers and gets a great number of tourist visits. The nightlife of Javea is dancing in the Spanish clubs, bars and pubs.
