When you plan your tour of Spain, the first question which haunts your mind is ‘Where to go in Spain?’ This is because there are too many places which are of interest for the tourist. You are in a fix and you certainly find it difficult to finalize your itinerary. In Spain, every place is beautiful, it has many places to see and every time you find that you lack time to cover all the places. It normally happens that those who visit Spain generally overstay because they are carried away by the beautiful nature that prompts the tourists to extend their stay.

A tour of Extremadura:

Now, we have chosen the city of Extremadura as our place of visit. This is a city under the province Merida. The city borders Portugal on its western side. The city is blessed with wildlife and natural reserve created by the great river Tagus. Extremadura borders Leon and Castile on its northern border. It is known for its stunningly beautiful nature. Tall mountains and lush vegetation have made this city most ideal for nature lovers. On the top of this, there are many beautiful buildings like Amphitheatre and Roman temple which suggest the influence Romans had on this city. The archway and villas were constructed as a resting place for the army according to historians. These buildings have been very well preserved, thanks to the efforts of the Government of Spain.

Another place of interest is the city of Cacers which has a healthy mix of historical buildings and buildings of modern architecture. Some of the buildings in this city are believed to have been built during the period of Moors, Arabs and Visigoths. For example, the stunningly beautiful Gothic Cathedral in this city is an outstanding example of the mastery the Visigoths had achieved in the field of architecture. The Yste Monastery is another place of importance in the city of Cacers. This beautiful building is believed to have been built in the 15th century.

If you are a nature lover, then do not forget to visit the natural park called the Monfrague Natural Park. Many rare species of birds and many wild animals can be found here. You can take the help of a tourist guide to go round this park. There are more than 200 species of animals in this natural park. If you want to get a touch of Medieval Europe and Christianity, visit the monastery of Guadalupe.
