Although both Pilates and yoga come under exercises, following are the broad differences among both of them:
-The exercises involved in Yoga are typically static and held for a period of time, such as a minute each. On the contrary, Pilates doesn’t involve such static practices.

-Deep breathing is a highly significant part of Yoga, which is done while holding every pose and at the time of transition from one pose to another. On the other hand, Pilates exercises are those movements which are done with several times repetition.
-Pilates involves only one type of breathing, which is called "ribcage breathing", but Yoga has many styles of breathing used for several exercises.
-In Yoga, you inhale from nose to inhale and exhale, but in Pilates you inhale through your nose but exhale through your mouth.
-Yoga classes often use music and chanting, but Pilates classes involve completely quiet environment.
