Writing is something that we all have to do at some point in our lives. Of course learning how to write is a skill that is generally taught in pre-k classes. Children are usually able to perfect the art of writing by the end of their early elementary years. Often time children are taught to write using big lined paper and a thick pencil so that they are able to grip the utensil properly. However, there will come a point in time, usually during middle school, when our children will need to learn to write using pens. Pencils are rarely used in middle school and even less in high school. This is why it's important to encourage your child to use pens as well as pencils.

Of course, sometimes making children switch to a new writing device can be tough but there are different types of pens you can use that will make writing with them much more attractive and fun. Consider some of the following options as a way to teach your child how to write with a pen and how to enjoy using one!

Character Pens

You'll find that all sorts of movie, television, and video game characters can now be found on pens. It isn't hard to find a pen that has one of your child's favorite characters. This way your child will be learning and writing alongside Winnie the Pooh, Buzz Lightyear, or some other character!

Bobble head pens

Bobble head pens are a great way to get children interested in using pens. These pens are fun to use and are sure to entertain any child that is learning how to write! The movement of the pen will cause the bobble head to move, which is always fun to look at, especially for children.

Blended pens

Blended pens are always fun because they write in various different colors at any given time. The gel inside of the pen is blended with different colors. This can make using a pen exciting for younger children as they never know what color will be next! These pens are often gel pens and can even be used on darker colored paper.

Using a pen is something that all of us have to learn to do eventually, so why not start young? Buy your child a pen that will make writing fun and entertaining. A boring clear plastic black-ink pen isn't going to lure your child in!
