South Sea Pearls are the biggest orphic gems found in the northern waters of Australia, Philippines and Indonesia. They are highly prized because of their rarity, unique colors such as gold and silver, large size which can reach up to 20mm.
The fabled black pearls are found in the black-lipped oyster 'Pinctada Margaritifera', off the coasts of Tahiti and French Polynesian islands. Their unparalleled dark bodies tones make them look flashy and glamorous. Available in several other shades such as silver, purple and blue they are a great adornment for cocktail parties, operas and other high profile events.
Excellent luster and flawless surface are the hallmarks of Akoya sea gems. Found in the waters off the coasts of Japan and China their colors range from pinkish white to creamy overtones and metallic blue.
