I have a two year old boy and also work part time from home. I don’t have child care and so I tend to have to organise my work commitments around my child’s routine. For the most part I manage to handle this quite well although sometimes it can be like spinning plates!

I have a two year old boy and also work part time from home. I don’t have child care and so I tend to have to organise my work commitments around my child’s routine. For the most part I manage to handle this quite well although sometimes it can be like spinning plates! I work whilst he is napping or squeeze in a couple of hours before he wakes up in a morning. I chose this type of working style so that I could be at home for my little one whilst still earning an income. I absolutely love it and would recommend it to anyone.
This type of working style gives you so much flexibility as a parent. Lets take today as an example. I woke at six thirty and managed to work for two hours whilst Leo was still in the land of nod. When he awoke we had breakfast together and then he played in his playhouse whilst I did some household jobs. After lunch I drove to a nearby Zoo.
car and so I got my laptop out and started doing some work. Ideal. Eventually he woke up, just in time for the sun to start shining and so we went into the Zoo. He loved it. We were in time for the feeding of the lions and enjoyed a parrot display and presentation. A great day out and I managed to squeeze in some work as well.
