On the field, your equipment can make the difference between winning or losing. Follow these helpful tips to make the most of your equipment. Allen Keys are Key Invest in a set of hex keys for your kit bag. You can find inexpensive sets at your local hardware store. A "Swiss Army Knife" style set means you'll never lose a single loose key again. Ball Ended hex keys work great for fitting into small tight places.
Be Kind & Recycle Be sure to recycle your plastic water bottle after use. Another option to reuse your bottle is to cut half the bottom and use it as a scoop for filling pods. A standard 500ML water bottle fits perfectly into a pod!
Clean out your Gear Bag Once a month, spend an hour & clean out your paintball gear sack, including wiping down the inside. Old paintballs & dirty socks might be lurking in the bottom, and are a breeding ground for bacteria. Who knows, you might be lucky and find a twenty!
Dress for Success Wear the proper paintball clothing for your playing situation. Comfortable and breathable will allow movement when you play.
Get a Good Paint to Barrel Match Paintballs are the most expensive part of your day, and a necessity as well! If your paint is round and fits snug in your barrel your accuracy will improve dramatically and you will have less breakage!
Learn your Paintball Marker Learn the basics to your paintball marker. How to service it, clean it. Having a well working marker is very important to having a good day paintballing.
Micro Fiber Always have a micro fiber on hand. Keep it in a zipper baggie to keep it clean between uses.
Seal the Deal Always purchase the complete seal kit with your new paintball marker, having the parts at hand will be invaluable and will pay for itself in dividends!
Serial Take a picture of your paintball gun with your cell phone, and keep the serial number with you. In the unlikely circumstance that your paintball marker is stolen/missing you'll have most of the information needed to file a report or insurance claim.
Stopper Always use a barrel blocking device when not in active game play. Have a spare barrel sock in your kit bag, just in case. Squeegees are not safe alternatives to a paintball specific barrel blocking device.
Testing Make sure your air system is current. Re-test your bottle as required (by law). Also be sure to know what testing systems your bottle is approved for. Never use an out of test tank.
Wash Up Wash your paintball clothing immediately when you get home. Use a pre-treater/oxy-detergent for best results in removing paint & grass stains.
