The best way to address doing a house removal to another house is to start with a list of things to do. This way you will not forget any of the things you need to do. Your first step would be to walk through your home. Do you really need to move everything that is in it? If not make a decision to eliminate some of your things. You can sell them, give them away, donate them or put them in a storage unit to think about later.
The second thing you have to do is decide if you are going to pack everything yourself or have the movers pack some of it and you do the rest or if the movers will pack all of it. Each of these choices has a different time factor associated with it. In any event you will have to acquire and or pay for all of the boxes that are used. If you are packing them yourself, then you may use boxes from a store like a liquor store but do remember liquor boxes are not very large and you would need hundreds of them to pack up a medium size house. Or you may purchase them from the mover. If you purchase them from a house removal company they you will get the boxes you need for the specific items you are packing.
Using the correct boxes is a confidence builder. It is amazing how easy it is to pack a mirror or a picture in a mirror pack. They are made for that purpose. The same is true when you pack dishes. If you use a dish pack with its sturdy walls, it adds extra protection to your dishes. It is much easier knowing your dishes are safer with this type of box.
When you pack dishes you should put several layers of towel or something soft that you have to pack anyway as a bottom layer and again on top of the dishes. This way you gain more protection for your dishes. Some people put their dishes on edge after they have wrapped them because if a box is dropped the dishes are not stacked on top of each other so if any break it in theory would not be all of them in the box.
Using wardrobe boxes is another confidence builder. You just have to hang the clothes in them. If you get the taller wardrobe boxes you can put shoes or purses in the bottom of the box below the clothes.
You do not want to fill the boxes so heavy that the movers can’t move them. So use box boxes for the books and don’t attempt to put lots of books in a larger box so making it difficult to move. Also use larger boxes for the odd sized pots and pans. Again you can stuff towels or other soft goods around them to stop them from rattling.
Using appropriate sized boxes when doing a house removal makes it much easier.
