Pad printing is a simple and widely used printing method in many industries to transform a 2 dimensional image in to a 3 dimensional object. This method uses some different type printing pads, printing inks etc.
Like other printing services pad printing has got popularity since it can make a 3D object form a normal 2-D image. This printing method uses an indirect offset printing process that some printing plates and printing pads etc. An image in the two dimensional form is to transform to a printing plate first and then transform to another printing surfaces to be printed. In pad print method it is important note some factors such as the printing pad used, printing ink, printing plates or surfaces, and printing method. As the method is widely used for the printing process to transforming a two dimensional image in to a 3 Dimensional object care should be taken while choosing the surface to be printed. Though the basic pad print process is simple enough in nature it should take some efforts. The pad used for this printing method is the silicon pad which is capable of picking and transforming the image form a flat plane to a verity of surfaces. That means we can transform or make the output objects on surfaces like flat, spherical, cylindrical, concave surfaces, convex surfaces, compound angles, textures etc.

The pad print method is the easiest way to make the 3 dimensional objects form 2- dimensional flat surfaces to a verity of other surfaces. Since this process is suited for printing on irregular shaped objects the 3 dimensional printing techniques often uses some key elements like the pad, the cliché and the ink. The printing process includes some steps namely etching an image in to a plane surface, make a blue print of the image using ink, transform to desired surfaces using the printing pads. In the first step the desired image which you want to transform to 3 dimensional forms is etched to a metal backing polymer coated plate called the cliché. After pacing in the printer the cliché is inked with an ink doctoring system. The ink used for this printing technique available in many different verities specific to the type of substrate to be printed on. The ink is also available in many different colors that we can choose depend on our needs to print the object.
The silicon printing pad used in pad print technique to pick up the image in the normal form is of different hardness. This silicon pad has the ability to stick the image temporarily in the printing pad so it is quite easy to transform the image fully to the printing plate as we preferred. Thus the pad print method is widely used for printing impossible products in many industries including manufacturing of electronics, appliances, apparel, sports equipment, and toys, automotive and in medical filed. When adopting the pad print technique in medical filed there have been using medical grade ink and also some other edible inks for printing onto candies or other food products. The pad print method can also be used for the deposition of functional materials such as adhesive dyes, lubricants and conductive inks in many industries.
