There are two kinds of search results: paid results and organic (or natural) results.Paid results are those listings that require a fee for the search engine to list their link for particular
keywords. The most widely used form of paid listing is Pay Per Click (PPC), where you pay each time someone clicks on the link in your advertisement. The price increases with the competitiveness of the
keyword. Google AdWords is one popular form of paid search advertisement.
Organic results are gathered by search engines’ web crawlers and ranked according to relevance to the search terms. This relevance is calculated by criteria such as extent of keyword match and number of
sites linking to that website. It is much more valuable to be listed highly in the organic results than in the PPC advertisements.
Benefits of being listed in organic results:
• No cost - organic results are listed based on the search engine’s measure of your relevance and quality, not your advertising dollars, so you don’t pay a “tax” per click
• Get more traffic - most people click the organic search results, not the paid advertisements
• Get visitors with a higher education - research shows those who click on organic search results more often have a higher level of education
• Longer lasting rank and traffic - search engines record your ranking history, helping you rank highly in the future, and they only reevaluate your rank every few weeks or months, allowing
you to maintain your rank longer
Organic Search Result vs Paid Search Result with ROI
Everyone will look at “Return on Investment (ROI)” – well, if they care about their business they will - when businesses are going to invest or spend money on something, they will
always look at whether it will bring a positive ROI for them.
Similarly when webmasters are going to invest on their site for “SEO/SEM” they need to analyze the ROI with various factors. Here are few factors need to be considered when one
is going to opt either SEO or PPC with ROI:
• Competition of industry
• Type of service the site provides
• Region of service with respect to industry
• Population of Geographic location
• Estimation of internet users in particular geographic location
The above are the common factors that affect ROI of a site whether you opt SEO or PPC.Also based on requirement and time period one can opt either natural SEO or PPC. If one
wants good results with less investment irrespective of time period then one can go for natural SEO. If you want good results in a shorter time period then you would need to
seriously consider a pay-per-click campaign. The most important action you can do is to "Take Action."Unless you implement some kind of a marketing plan, your chances of expanding your
website and your business are left to good luck. Do you want to base your business on good luck? In order to move your business ahead it is going to take a combination of actions, and
these actions will be based on your planning and actions.Good luck with your efforts and don't be afraid to be innovative in your thoughts and actions!
