Treatment in a rehab is the only way to survive from the ill effects of opiates.
|
Opiates have spread the plague of addiction for long time. Millions of opiate addicts have died till now. Opiates are derived from opium poppy plants. The main use of opiates was for making painkillers, but people used it to make addiction drugs like heroin, cocaine, etc. with this, the human life savior turned to life taker. The addiction nowadays has taken a alarming situation. Millions of people get addicted to opiates every year.
Opiates like oxycodon, morphine are used to suppress pain and reduce anxiety. When high dosage of opiates is used, people can feel a state of euphoria. Due to this effect, opiates are used as recreational drugs. When people use it for a long time, they get physically and psychologically dependant on it. And, it is hard to get rid of this dependence. When the human body gets adjusted with the initial dose of opiates, it needs more and more of it for getting the same feeling of euphoria. Taking overdose of opiates for long time can cause severe problems to the body.
The physical effects of opiate addiction that are noticeable are dry mouth, watery eyes, dilation of pupil, low blood pressure, constipation, lightheadedness, drowsiness etc. The opiate addicts often sleep for long periods of time. And when they are awake, they yawn excessively. A drug addicted person can easily be identified if someone observes carefully. Due to these side effects of opiate addiction, the addicts face several problems. They get isolated from the outer world, they do not interact with others much. People surrounding them or dependant on them are also passively affected. People cannot depend on them.
However, many dependable opiate rehabs (as for example, the Luxury Drug Rehab) have grown up. The opiate addicts can get proper treatment only in an opiate rehab. In an opiate rehab, the first procedure that is undertaken is the detoxification process by which all the toxic opiate particles are eliminated from the body. The treatments conducted in the rehabs by the expert medical staffs are very effective for the cure.
Throughout this prolonged treatment process, the patient often experiences the opiate withdrawal effects. These adverse effects are very painful (both mentally and physically) and almost intolerable. The doctors nowadays use medicines like methadone or buprenorphine to ease the pain of the withdrawal effects. The buprenorphine treatment is already famous worldwide, as it makes the treatment process much easier.
Apart from the opiate addiction treatment process, fitness training are provided to the patients with healthy diets, so that the patients can gain back their health which they apparently lost during the addiction period. Several group discussion sessions are organized with the patient and their family member to know the mental condition of the patient. The group discussion sessions are held to check out whether the addicts are fit for going back to their normal life or not. An opiate rehab also offers behavior modification strategies and various techniques so that the recovering patients do not go back to their addiction after the rehabilitation process. They are made to interact fully with their friends and family members during the counseling periods.
