Do you sometimes wish you could access your accounts via the web? Or share them more easily with your accountant? Perhaps when you’re out of the office, working remotely or maybe even while on holiday?

The launch today of Intuit QuickBooks Online Accounting Software lets you do just that.

In short Cloud is simply computing delivered over the web. It is that simple and easy to understand but what it offers for small businesses is a revolution in the way they think about and consume computing. It offers a cheaper and easier way to buy computing power. Seldom do these two qualities go together but when they do, things can change in a big way.

Historically, business that wanted to harness computing power for say an ecommerce web site would have to invest in hardware and software and make sure they were capable of installing and maintaining this investment. This would quite probably be a long way from the core activities of the business. In the next 10 years small businesses will not buy, own or operate servers, they will consume IT services over the web leaving them to concentrate on their core business.

QuickBooks Online is a cloud-based service that helps you do your books, automatically backs up your data and gives you secure access to keep on top of your business from anywhere.

"Small businesses in the UK are showing increasing confidence toward using online services to manage core business functions such as financial management," said Pernille Bruun-Jensen, managing director of Intuit UK. "In launching QuickBooks Online we are helping this new generation of businesses to securely access their books online and keep on top of their finances wherever they are. QuickBooks Online is new and tailored for the UK market, but built on a decade of experience in the US where we have more than 215,000 paid subscribers.”

Available on Mac and PC, Intuit QuickBooks Online helps businesses do their books, automatically backs up their data and offers secure access from anywhere.

With QuickBooks Online you can:
