Billboard prices are starting to bounce back too as the industry is determined to push the trend up and continue its recovery until the end of year.
A report recently released by OMA found that the out of home industry which covers billboard advertising and OOH advertising posted a total of $203.3 million for this year's second quarter as compared to the same period last year. The financial performance of the sector rose by 125% in the quarter.

Another important finding of the report is the 61% increase in the digital OOH revenue. On top of that, the most significant finding in the report is that there is a $307 million increase in the year-to-date revenue of the industry.

So what does this mean to the OOH advertising and billboard advertising industry and the businesses? This news shows hope to the OOH industry which was greatly affected by the pandemic. Billboard advertising, OOH advertising and billboard prices decreased since the country had a series of lockdowns last year. The trends show the start of the recovery of the sector.

Billboard prices are starting to bounce back too as the industry is determined to push the trend up and continue its recovery until the end of year. In an interview with OMA CEO Charmaine Moldrich, she mentioned that the sector has innovative plans to make their billboard prices and packages easier for companies to avail. Among these is the efforts of OMA to improve its audience measurement system by conducting an extensive research on neuroscience.

As for my point of view, I believe that the recovery observed in the advertising sector is a result of the recovery of the whole Australian economy. The Australian Bureau of Statistics published a related report showing a leap of 1.8% in the performance of the country's economy during the first quarter as compared to the same period last year. It is the pride and joy of the agency to release such a report as Australia is among the only five countries in the world that are showing signs of recovery.

Along with the general findings of the economic report is a more detailed report on the status of the advertising sector. The report stated that advertising spending in Australia is performing well and on track to its growth forecast for the year. According to the ABS report, OOH agreements and deals have already increased by more than 198% in the second quarter of the year.

These two reports show the resiliency of the OOH advertising and billboard advertising industry and the entire Australian economy. Companies in advertising should just hold on tight and keep the flame burning for the entire year. They should not let their efforts in the first part of the year go to nothing. Offering the best billboard prices can help sustain the efforts during the start of the year.

It is also important that they try to break and explore the other opportunities available in new industries and sectors like the technological sector. These industries show great promise given that they could be trying for the first time how OOH promotions can help improve their brand awareness and result in great ROIs.
