The Finnish phone manufacturer Nokia has long promised us a MeeGo-powered smartphone since 2010. We all thought that this day would never come. This made us think that we were stuck with Symbian-powered handsets such as the E7. Despite a lot of us thinking that the Finland-based company has abandoned its MeeGo plans, the N9 was officially announced on June of this year. Upon looking at the features this unique handset had to offer, you will notice that it comes with a number of unique capabilities. One of these capabilities is a home screen with three simple views.
These different views offer everything you will ever need from the mobile phone's features. The first you will get to know about is the events view. Here, you get to know about everything your friends are up to. You get live feeds delivered on the home screen. You will get notifications, tweets from Twitter, and wall posts from Facebook. You never have log in out of your favorite social networking accounts to get these live updates. This convenient feature allows you to save time and get to know what everyone is up to or what is on their minds. You can also quickly type in a tweet or a wall post of your own.
The next thing you will find on the home screen is the applications view. Here, you will get to see all the apps that have been pre-loaded on the Nokia N9. You can choose to launch popular pre-installed apps such as the most popular social network Facebook, the best IM across platforms Skype, the best micro-blogging social network Twitter, local and international weather reports from Accuweather, the award-winning news portal AP Mobile, and the mobile game of the year Angry Birds. Furthermore, there are other OS applications that you expect to find on any modern mobile phone. If you are looking for more apps, you can always visit the Ovi Store straight from the MeeGo-powered handset.
The last is the open applications view. On the Nokia N9, this view allows you to see the apps that you are currently running. Not only does this feature help you get back on track with what you were doing, it gives you a more convenient way of multi-tasking. This will allow you to smoothly switch from application to application without compromising performance. If you have forgotten what you were working on in the past, you can always check on the recently used apps found on the top of the screen.
On the Nokia N9, you get to enjoy three simple views from the home screen.
