New printers may get error if older version and similar utilities are installed. Eliminating these factors would reduce these errors.

Yesterday was a good day for me. I am taking home a brand new HP LaserJect Pro CP1525 printer. Who will not like it especially if you are like me into printing business. Though color laser printer is not new, this is my first time to get one for me.
OK so here is what it features:
HP e-Print - Yes
Print speed, normal - Up to 12ppm
Print speed, color - Up to 8ppm
Print technology - Laser (color)
Processor speed - 600 MHz
Memory, standard - 128 MB
Memory, maximum - 385 MB
Connectivity - USB 2.0, Fast Ethernet 10/100 and WiFi 802.11 b/g/n
OS - Window 7, Vista, XP all 32 bit and 64 bit
Power consumption - 295 Watts
Warranty - 1 year, limited warranty, product exchange
I am very impressed to this specification.
So I am very excited going home to unbox and start using my new and will be money making machine. I am sure this will become one of my cost centers. When I get home I started unboxing the printer and made it ready for the installation. I scan the user manual checking for extra installation instruction. It is usual installation process I would say. I think computers are smart enough to adjust to users different installation approach so I continue the installation in my own way.
1. Powered up the printer to check if everything is working. Most printer these days has self testing which I like, it allows the user to test the unit even it is not yet installed to the a computer.
2. Connected the printer to the computer using USB for easy and faster setup. Ethernet and WiFi setup may be performed after performing complete test to the printer.
3. Plugged in the CD/DVD installer for driver and utility installation. Most if not all printers come with a utility to manage the printer which include required drivers.
4. Rebooted the computer. This may not be necessary with Windows 7 and Vista but I rebooted it anyway.
5. Fire up the HP utility to test the printer… Nothing happened. I suddenly felt itchiness on my head. So I checked the all the connections and settings but everything seems to be ok. Guess I’ve spent couple of minutes to figure out that its printer driver may be messing up with my old printer.
Troubleshooting part:
1. Uninstall all printer utility via Control Panel. For drivers, it just get updated when new driver is installed or you may manually install this driver via Device Manager.
2. Rebooted the computer.
3. After booting up, reinstall the HP Printer Drivers and utility using the CD/DVD provided.
4. Reboot the computer.
5. Test the printer.
This troubleshooting fixed my issue. The idea is not to have any other driver or utility for the product. Old and similar drivers may introduce conflict.
