With just a few simple ingredients, you can make your own natural exfoliating body scrub and give yourself the ultimate spa treatment.

All you need is to pair a naturally abrasive ingredient (sugar or salt) with a soothing and moisturizing base (oils); also adding essential oils will make your skin smell great for hours.

* Orange and Lemon Peel Scrub:

It is an excellent scrub that is easy to make, and the effects are seen immediately. Lemon, orange and lime peels are available at home and form an excellent natural skin scrub. The peels should be dried thoroughly, but away from sunlight.

Powder them and store in a jar. To prepare the scrub: Take Two tablespoons of dried peel powder and Two tablespoons of the porridge grains or wheat bran. Add to this half tablespoon of honey and a little milk and make a coarse paste. Rub this paste all over your neck, arms, body and legs before a bath. Use circular motions as you proceed further. This will help to remove dead skin. Then bathe as usual. It leaves you feeling refreshed and clean.

* Chickpea Powder Scrub:

This homemade scrub is very beneficial for people with oily skin. Take four tablespoons of chickpea powder.

Add along Half tablespoon of turmeric powder, little milk and few drops of rose water to make a thick paste. Rub it all over the body. Allow the paste to dry and when it is caking, use rough circular motions to exfoliate. People with dry skin can also use this scrub, but replace milk with full cream. * Tomato Wrap:

A good body scrub recipe for people with oily skins. Take four tomatoes. You also need to chop them as finely as possible or puree them. Soak some rice for 30 mintues and then grind it coarsely. Add this to the tomato puree. Mix well and apply all over your body. Leave the mixture for approximately 20 minutes to work and wash it off with warm water.

* Oats:

This body scrub will reduce the appearance of large skin pores and and clean away the pore clogging residue. Take half a liter of buttermilk or half a liter of beaten curds. Take half a cupful of oats that have been coarsely ground or are in thick powdered form. Then add the powdered oats to the curds or buttermilk. Mix well. Remove it in a container and refrigerate for two hours. Apply this thick paste all over the body starting from the neck downwards, to the arms, torso and legs. Leave it for 20 minutes. Rinse off with warm water containing lemon juice.
