One can also drive up to the beautiful group of lakes called Saat Tal (Seven Lakes). It is believe that at one point of time there were seven lakes here but now only 5 are remaining. Boating here is an experience in itself. These lakes are surrounded by towering green mountains and make a really good picture.

Another lake that you can visit is Naukuchiatal, named so because it has nine corners. The legend has it that if you can see all the nine corners of the lake whatever you wish, it gets fulfilled. Jeolikot near Nainital is another peaceful place that you can visit.

One can easily combine a trip to Nainital with a wildlife safari to Jim Corbett National Park. The park is named after the legendary conservationist and hunter Jim Corbett.

Nainital is easily accessible from Delhi. Regular buses are available from Anand Vihar ISBT, New Delhi. You can also take an overnight train to Kathgodam, which is the nearest railway station to Nainital.
